Semanti Kulkarni is a Partner and Chief Compliance Officer of Gilead Capital LP, an investment manager focused on long-term investments in high-quality public small-cap companies in North America and Europe. Before joining Gilead Capital, Semanti spent four years as an Analyst at Brandes Investment Partners, a long-only value-strategy investment firm. From 2007 to 2010, Semanti served as an Associate at Metalmark Capital (formerly known as Morgan Stanley Capital Partners), a private equity firm, where she focused on industrial, healthcare and energy investment opportunities. She began her career as an investment banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs. Semanti earned her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School. Semanti was born in India and raised in Germany, Switzerland and the Philippines before coming to the US to pursue her undergraduate degree. She currently serves as a Director of Maya’s Hope, a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of impoverished and orphaned children in the Philippines and Ukraine.
